Saving Tendencies Research

Turkey’s Saving Tendencies Research is a public opinion survey carried out by ING in collaboration with Bilkent University and Ipsos KMG. The objective of the research is the draw attention to the low saving rates, one of the crucial problems of Turkish economy, and to fill in the statistical data shortfall in this area.

Conducted via monthly CATIs (Computer-Assisted Telephone Interviewing), the research examines the saving tendencies of the Turkish urban population aged 18 and over, determines the reasons for saving/not-saving and monitors the saving levels on a regular basis. The results of the research, conducted every month on 800 people from 26 provinces, chosen in NUTS1 regions as the Turkish urban population sample, are published quarterly.
