John T. Mc Carthy

Chair of the Board of Directors
John T. McCarthy, having BA & MA in German & Economics at Tufts University and MA in International Finance at Babson College, started his career at State Street Bank in Munich in 1970. Between 1976 and 1990, he worked at American Express Bank in New York, London, Bahrain, Dubai, Seoul and Istanbul offices. McCarthy, who established ING Türkiye in 1991, has been serving as the Chair of the Board of Directors at ING Türkiye since 2007.

A. Canan Ediboğlu

Vice Chair of the Board of Directors
Canan Ediboglu, with a bachelor degree(Bsc) in Economics & Economic History and master’s degree(Msc) in Financial Managerial Control in University of Southampton, has significant industry and financial experience. She spent 30 years at Royal Dutch Shell, culminating in her role as CEO of Shell Turkey until 2009. She joined ING Türkiye in 2010 and currently serves as the Vice Chair of Board of Directors at ING Türkiye.She has several other non-executive Board positions currently Tupraş.

M. Semra Kuran

Member of the Board of Directors & Chair of the Audit Committee
Semra Kuran, who holds a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from Middle East Technical University and a master's degree in Banking and Finance from Bilgi University, began her career at Garanti Bank. After working on finance at this institution, she continued in the field of risk management and served as an executive. In 2018, Kuran joined the ING Turkey Board of Directors and currently serves as the Chairperson of the Audit Committee. She is also board member of ING Leasing and ING Investment.

Karst Jan Wolters

Member of the Board of Directors
Graduated with master’s degree in International Economics from University of Groningen in 1986, Karst J. Wolters started to work in NMB Bank and had several roles including Head of Corporate Clients ING NL. After 2,5 years in public service as financial expert in Dutch National Fraud Team, he returned in 1999 to ING and had high-level roles such as Head of Global Credit Restructuring, CRO of Wholesale Banking and Head of Risk. At 2021 he stepped into several non executive Board position in the financial industry including ING Türkiye.

Mustafa Aşkın Dolaştır

Member of the Board of Directors & Audit and Risk Committee
Mustafa Aşkın Dolaştır, who holds a bachelor's and master’s degree in management engineering from Istanbul Technical University (İTÜ), started his career as a lecturer at İ.T.Ü. in 1984. Then he started working at The Central Bank of Turkey as specialist and after holding various senior executive roles in Finansbank A.Ş. and Group Companies, he took senior roles since the first establishment of two Turkish originated Dutch banks in the Netherlands. Lastly, Dolaştır served as CFO at Türk Ekonomi Bankası A.Ş. (a subsidiary of BNPP Group) between 2007 and 2024. As of June 2024, he joined the ING Türkiye as a member of the Board of Directors & Audit and Risk Committee.

Alper Gökgöz

Member of the Board of Directors & General Manager
Graduated from Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering at METU, Gökgöz received his MBA degree at Harvard Business School and completed the Executive Leadership program at Stanford University. After starting his career at the Istanbul office of McKinsey & Company in 2005, Gökgöz also served at the Amsterdam office of the company. Gökgöz assumed several roles as a strategic consultant for many international companies in finance sector during his professional life. In 2012, he has joined the ING team as the Director of Digital Banking. Gökgöz worked as Retail Banking Executive Vice President between January 2018 and May 2020.
